British Airways Concorde Room LHR
New look for British Airways Concorde Room LHR

British Airways has revamped its flagship Concorde Room at Heathrow Terminal 5.

The refurbishment included re-upholstering iconic pieces of furniture, and adding new feature pieces to the room, all of which are illuminated by hand-blown glass lighting with bone linen shades and ochre silk linings.

The terrace, which is so popular with travellers thanks to its position overlooking the runway, features luxurious sofas and new elegant loungers.

Mobile phone chargers are also on hand for travellers to ensure their devices are fully charged before they fly.

Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ director of brand and customer experience, said: “In recent years we’ve invested in our lounges, including new ones in Boston and Gatwick South Terminal and revamped spaces in Edinburgh, Cape Town, Amsterdam, Belfast, Washington, Singapore and Dubai.
“We believe our customers will love the new look and feel of the Concorde Room, in particular the terrace that we have re-designed to create a private oasis in the middle of a bustling airport.”

Customers will still be able to dine before they fly in private booths with a full waiter service. If they wish to unwind ahead of their flight, private cabanas with a day bed and en-suite bathroom are available to book.

Cathay Pacific Lounge Singapre
Cathay Pacific’s new lounge in Singapore

An innovative and seamless travel experience, in addition to a spectacular and spacious lounge, is what Cathay Pacific customers can look forward to. The new Terminal 4 at Singapore’s Changi Airport takes innovation to the next level by offering Cathay Pacific customers an integrated suite of self-service options, reducing queueing time and speeding up the process right through to boarding.

The opening of Terminal 4 coincides with the unveiling of a dedicated Cathay Pacific lounge, one of the airline’s largest lounges outside Hong Kong, with seating for more than 200 customers.

Similar in style to Cathay Pacific’s award-winning lounges at The Pier in Hong Kong, the new lounge provides a “living room” environment of understated luxury in which guests can relax, eat and work before their flight.

Designer furniture and lighting has been carefully selected for practicality, comfort and privacy, while the use of natural materials, plenty of greenery and artworks by local artists add to the lounge’s welcoming atmosphere.

There is also a strong focus on food and beverage services, with the dining area featuring Cathay Pacific’s iconic Noodle Bar, offering a selection of freshly prepared Asian dishes including its signature Dan Dan Noodles and local favorite, Singapore Laksa.

Added Mr Hughes: “We place great value in listening to our customers and investing in products and services that are important to them. The lounge echoes the warmth, natural features and array of amenities that have proved so successful in many of our other lounges around the world, and we can’t wait to welcome our first guests upon the opening of Terminal 4.”
