New Qantas Brisbane International Lounge
New Qantas Brisbane International Lounge

Qantas just unveiled the new Qantas Brisbane International Lounge. It is a combined first and business lounge.

Qantas International CEO Gareth Evans said the international lounge was the first of serveral new facilities the national carrier would open in the coming months at Brisbane Airport. "This stylish and modern lounge is the perfect space for our customers to relax before their flight," said Mr Evans. "It reflects the natural beauty of the Queensland landscape through natural light, furnitue and design, offering a new standard in premium travel. This lounge marks our continued investment in the entire customer journey. We`ve almost finished the refurbishment of our A330 fleet at the Brisbane Maintenance Facility, added new services to Japan and New Zealand, and the domestic terminal lounges are set for a complete redesign in coming months."

The lounge, split across two levels, offers nearly 30% more space than the previous lounges, with interiors reflecting the Queensland landscape. Artfully placed lighting, timber cafe seating, low slung loungers, and colorful rugs bring color and texture reminiscent of the reef, sandbars and waterways-like living in the tropical north.

A seasonal menu designed by chef Neil Perry has a focus on working with local food producers. There`s new signature breakfast hatch with breakfast dishes to order such as healthy breakfast bowls, Bircher Muesli and French Toast. The lounge will also offer a premium hot and cold buffet.

A new lounge concept -Quench- serves a range of non-alcoholic beverages including syrups from Bickfords and Buderim Ginger and a signature tisane blend designed by Rockpool.

The lounge will also feature a bar serving beer also on tap, premium wine, and all-day barista coffee by Vittoria.

A key feature is a bespoke glass and light art installation called "The Pulse of Ancient Land" created by artist Jenna Lee. Inlaid into the glass is an abstract interpretation of the land of the QLD region as viewed from above, brought to life through glass, watercolor and lights.

The lounge also features a business center, Wi-fi, TVs, and shower suites with ASPAR by Aurora skincare products.

Etihad First & Business Class Lounge Los Angeles
Etihad opens new LA Airport Lounge

Etihad Airways has officially opened its new First and Business Class Lounge within the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport.

Together with Etihad Airways` Premium Lounges in Washington D.C., and New York`s JFK, the new lounge is the airline`s  third dedicated hospitality haven in America, and the first on the US West Coast.

The new facility moves away from the normal conventions of airport lounge design, and features the same "Modern Arabian" decorative elements which characterize Etihad Airways` new international lounges. The decor draws inspiration from the geometric patterns of Abu Dhabi`s modern architecture and the desert landscape.

Martin Drew, Etihad Airways Senior Vice President Americas, said: " Our new First and Business Class Lounge in Los Angeles demonstrates our unwavering commitment to travelers on the US West Coast, and in the United States as a whole, by providing them with the intuitive hospitality they have come to expect from our people and our brand. It gives us great pleasure to inaugurate this facility."

Los Angeles World Airports Chief Executive Officer, Deborah Flint, said: " We applaud Etihad Airways in bringing this exciting, new premium lounge experience that truly caters to the modern traveler."

The new lounge provides a tranquil environment in which guests can relax, re-energize, be entertained, and enjoy the finest culinary experiences and hospitality services for which the airline is renowned. The space features luxuriously appointed seating, an a la carte dining area, showcase bar, TV area, shower facilities, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, multi-zone electrical and USB power outlets, and a selection of international magazines and daily newspapers. A separate VIP area can also be made available when required.

Guests may enjoy an a la carte menu or help themselves at the buffet counters nearby with a variety of fresh fruits and snacks. The highlight is the showcase bar, where bartenders mix up favourite drinks or cocktails.

Convenientely located airside, overlooking the renovated terminal`s exclusive shopping promenade and measuring 407 sq.m., the Etihad Airways First and Business Class Lounge Los Angeles is open daily from 01:30 p.m. until 04:55 p.m..
